Subject: Flying Boats
Actually the large luxury "Flying Boat" type aircraft from that era had the type of interior shown. Including the spiral staircase shown leading down from the "flight deck".

Subject: Cabins in the sky!
The most striking thing about this budget pic is its notion that the interior of an airplane looks like a cheap hotel with a hallway and rooms ("cabins") on each side.

Perhaps the production designer just figured the audiences of the time would equate a caribbean airliner with a caribbean cruise ship.

Ralph Byrd and the other actors are not bad, but they only have only the most ordinary dialog to deliver.
